Made it to week 16 and I’m glad to report no more morning sickness (woohoo!) Not sure if I can say I got that second trimester energy yet, but definitely feeling better.
We had our third doctor’s appointment today and guess what?……
WE FOUND OUT THE SEX OF THE BABY!!!
Sooooo excited!! I did the genetic blood test at my last appointment and it included the sex of the baby. 🙂 At this point I am not sure if I’ll be writing about it, but if I do I’ll post a link here.
On the meantime, here’s my update so far at week 16:
WEEK 16 BUMPDATE
Baby is the size of an avocado!
- ANY MOVEMENT?
Nada. - BUMP?
Still no bump, just same old bloat. - CRAVINGS?
Salt & Vinegar chips! These ones to be exact. - AVERSIONS?
Thankfully I am back on the coffee train… down side? Chocolate is not my thing right now. Not sure if that counts as an aversion, but I used to have a piece of chocolate after every meal and now I want none of it. - PHYSICAL CHANGES?
My nails and hair are growing like crazy and honestly, this is the healthiest they’ve been in a while! - SYMPTOMS?
- Morning sickness is now in the past, but my sciatica pain is still going strong. It has probably gotten worse since my last check in. It sucks because now that I have some energy to get back in the gym, I can’t do much because the pain is so bad.
- Acid reflux is also at its highest, especially at night.
- My hormones have been playing a trick on me. I am not an emotional person and I don’t cry much, but oh boy! Since this pregnancy, every little thing makes me tear up.
- And pregnancy brain? Yup, I can confirm it is a thing. Yesterday I spent 10 minutes looking for my phone and it was only when I went to get a glass of water from the fridge that I realized I had left it there.
- EXERCISE?
I just started to get back into routine last week after no gym for 3 weeks. I’m still doing my usual Street Parking programming, however I’ve been taking it easy because of my sciatica pain. One thing I have noticed is that I’m out of breath more often and I have to stop in the middle of my WOD to catch my breath.
- WHAT AM I MISSING THE MOST?
Uhm.. how about a glass of beer? - WEIGHT GAIN?
5 pounds - MATERNITY CLOTHES/PRODUCTS?
- My Lululemons are fitting pretty tight by the end of day and I have a feeling they are soon not going to cut it. So I bought two maternity leggings to wear for my NYC trip next week. I got this one from BLANQI ($64) and this one from Amazon ($14).
- I also finished my first bottle of prenatal vitamins a couple of weeks ago. I did some research and decided to switch to Baby and Me 2 for its ingredients, and so far I am liking it. I am also supplementing my DHA with this one.
