Almost at the third trimester mark, isn’t it crazy? I swear sometimes it feels like I’ve been pregnant since forever. While other times, it feels like it was just yesterday. A lot has happened since my last update. We had our second trimester screening as well as my gestational diabetes test. Thankfully, both appointments had good results.
Here’s an update at week 26 so far:
WEEK 26 BUMPDATE
Baby is the size of kale!
- ANY MOVEMENT?
YESSSSS!!! I started feeling little peanut kick around week 23 and the kicks are getting stronger and stronger each week. In fact, Pablo is able to feel and see them! - BUMP?
Yup, there’s definitely a bump there (especially by the time I go to bed, it’s like it doubles in size by the end of the day) It also came out of nowhere. One day I had none, the next day was like “Wow, where did that come from?” - CRAVINGS?
Bacon!! I want it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So much that for the last 3 weeks I’ve been making Sautéed Bacon & Brussels Sprouts and I am still not tired of it.
- AVERSIONS?
The thought of eating a salad does not entice me. Cooked veggies I am all for it, but raw salads… no thank you! - PHYSICAL CHANGES?
Baby bump is growing fast! I feel like every day is bigger and bigger. - SYMPTOMS?
- Exhaustion. Very different from first trimester though. Plus I’m sure having a restless night is not helping. Some days seriously feels like baby is sucking all of my energy.
- Acid reflux is still pretty bad. I’ve had to eat more bland foods as well as cutting out spicy, if not, I am paying for it at night.
- Around week 22 I started to have really bad pain in my groin, so much that it is hard to walk or toss around in bed. (cue the pregnancy waddling)
- EXERCISE?
I’ve had to cut down on my workouts due to the groin pain I’ve been having. I am still doing Street Parking WODs, when I can, however I have not only scaled some of the movements but also the days I train. I am just too tired and I rather listen to my body than to force it.
- WHAT AM I MISSING THE MOST?
Sushi.. sushi.. and sushi! Oh and wine! I already told Pablo, I want a whole tray of sushi and a bottle of wine the day after giving birth! 😀 - WEIGHT GAIN?
At this point I am 13 pounds up from my starting weight. The doctor says my weight gain is on track, so I am happy with that.
