Forget about mashed potatoes and say hello to you new favorite potato dish. They are deliciously soft and tender on the inside yet incredibly crisp on the outside.
If you are looking to step up your potato game, look no further!
These Crispy Smashed Potatoes are the perfect side dish to any meal – but if you decide to eat it as a main who am I to judge? Can’t say I haven’t done it.
These potatoes are fun to make, look and smell amazing, and let me warn you… they are deliciously addicting! They are soft and tender on the inside yet incredibly crisp on the outside. I can guarantee you will be running back for seconds (if there are any left!).
Oh, and did I mention they are also very easy to make?
Simply: boil, press, drizzle, bake… ENJOY!
JUST A FEW NOTES:
- Potatoes – I prefer to use assorted baby potatoes or baby gold potatoes (they are the creamiest in my opinion), but any small/medium sized potatoes should work.
- Forget perfection – there’s no need to press on them pretty and flat. The crispiness of these potatoes lies in all of those ridges on top.
- Don’t skip on the butter – I understand if you are trying to be healthy and want to skip or swap the butter.. but just DONT. The flavor and crispiness that melted butter brings is key.
- Get creative! – You can also customize it however you want. Top it with guacamole, add parmesan cheese, or go big and load them with sour cream, bacon and cheddar cheese! You can’t go wrong.
I hope you enjoy them! Let me know in the comments.
